Great Hearts Christos is thrilled to share a momentous update with you – the expansion of their community of faith and learning by opening ts third campus in August 2024, located in the heart of Scottsdale, at the First Southern Baptist Church (5230 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85253) on Scottsdale Road just south of McDonald Road.
“It’s with heartfelt joy that I thank Pastor Chad Murrell, and the entire congregation for their visionary leadership and thoughtfulness in allowing us to plant Great Hearts Christos at First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale,” said Dr. Toyin Atolagbe, Executive Director of Great Hearts Christos. “This collaboration marks remarkable progress in our shared mission to educate children, intellectually, morally, and spiritually.”
If opening enrollment goals are met, Great Hearts Christos Scottsdale will open its doors for grades K-7, embodying the commitment to glorify God through the holistic development of students – intellectually, morally, and spiritually. The unique Christian classical approach intertwines faith and reason, fostering a deep love for Christ, family, community, Holy Scripture, and the rich tapestry of Western culture and Christian thought.
“This campus will allow Great Hearts to bring a Christian Classical education to the families along the 101 corridor in Scottsdale,” said Great Hearts Co-founder, Dr. Daniel Scoggin. “The church campus itself will serve as an excellent home to the culture of the school, with many classrooms, fields, a playground, a chapel, and large indoor areas for lunch and P.E. Great Hearts Christos offers a unique opportunity for families, with our wonderful Christian faculty delivering the proven Great Hearts model in smaller classes where students thrive.”
Atolagbe is excited to extend this transformative educational journey into Scottsdale. “As we enlarge the territories of Christian classical education in the Valley, securing a new location for Great Hearts Christos School gives us another opportunity to impact the lives of children and families in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and its surrounding neighborhood,” she said. “Through this partnership, we aim to build a vibrant community that empowers children to love God and others, embrace wisdom, pursue moral excellence, and cultivate a profound sense of purpose. We are excited to embark on this journey alongside First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale.”
Enrollment for the upcoming school year at Great Hearts Christos Scottsdale begins on Monday, December 18th, 2023. By submitting your application early, you significantly increase the likelihood of securing a place for your child in this enriching environment.
